Providence Health & Services Unit Secretary - Transitional Care Center in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a Per Diem, Variable Shift Unit Secretary to the Transitional Care Unit at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance in Torrance, CA.
In this position you will:
The Unit Support Associate (USA) role performs support functions on the patient care unit including admitting (quick admitting), record keeping, chart audit/management, order entry, log maintenance, and monitoring.
Also performs as customer relations/"concierge", clerical system facilitator and problem solver.
Responds appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age specific needs.
This position also contributes to the team by processing necessary paperwork mandated by law/statute.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or GED
Basic medical terminology and abbreviation
If no health care experience, then position requires completion of a vocational training course such as medical assistant, unit secretary, medical records, billing, etc.
Ability to perform all physical requirements pertaining to delegated tasks
Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in timely manner
Ability to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative (service-oriented) working relationship with patients, families and co-workers
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Recent hospital direct experience in an acute, sub-acute unit or skilled nursing facility
