We are seeking a Admin RN Staffing, Supv Office who will act as a resource to the Nursing Management team relative to overall staffing, scheduling and budgeting. Responsible for managing the Nursing/House Supervisors, staffers, and operations of the Nursing/Staffing Office, Float Pool staff, Monitor Technicians and the Nursing Administration registry budgets. Maintain in depth knowledge and understanding of all staffing, scheduling and pay policies and procedures as well as an ability to effectively communicate this understanding. Work collaboratively with colleagues within Service Area to foster consistent practices. This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer.
In this position you will:
Facilitate development of and maintains nursing staffing and scheduling policies; assure that those policies and practices are fairly and equitably enforced
Oversee and facilitates the staffing and scheduling process through for the nursing units
Oversee and maintain the patient classification system; provide acuity trending reports to Nursing Management
Oversee the preparation of Employee Profiles for nursing personnel. Act as liaison between Human Resources and Nursing Management to streamline information exchange and ideas. Work closely with nurse recruit
Oversee and monitor Patient Care Services' use of Travelers, Supplemental Registry Pool and contract staff; authorizes payment of fees as appropriate
Oversee, negotiate, and maintain supplemental outside staffing contracts
Act as liaison to dialysis agencies/services, chair dialysis work group, and approve invoices for payment
Oversee Kronos timekeeping process for Float Pool staff, monitor technicians, staffers, and house supervisors. Assure that pay practices are adhered to and equitably enforced throughout the Patient Care Departments. Act as a liaison between the Payroll Department and Patient Care Services to facilitate the process of timecard preparation and paycheck distribution

Act as a resource to the Nursing Management team regarding budget preparation and issues
Supervise the evening/night and weekend Nursing/House Supervisors, staff and operations of the Nursing/Staffing Office. Select train/orient and assign department staff. Develop standards of performance, evaluate performance, and initiate or make recommendations for personnel actions
Oversee and coordinate staff for the float pool, monitor technicians, and registry
Maintain effective communication with staff through staff meetings and other means of communication
Ensure that annual and ongoing performance appraisals for department employees are done in a timely basis
Identify needs and provide for training for department staff. Plan independently and in conjunction with others, as well as participates in the clinical and leadership development of staff
Promote a safe environment that allows for the delivery of high quality patient care
Protect patient and employee confidentiality by promoting professional staff communications
Direct maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, professional affiliations, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops
Demonstrate pro active leadership and conflict management skills
Attend, facilitate and actively participate on/or chair committees, work groups and task forces
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, patient/customer safety, environmental and infection control standards
Maintain 24-hour accountability for department operations
Required qualifications for this position include:
BLS for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association
If employee/applicant has certification by the American Red Cross-CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, this will be accepted until card expiration date
Current California Registered Nurse
3 years management or supervisory experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree in Nursing or health related field
