Providence Health & Services Rehabilitation Technician in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a Per Diem, Day Shift Rehabilitation Technician to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, CA.
The Rehabilitation Tech functions under the direct supervision of the licensed physical and occupational therapists. Assists the physical therapist, physical therapist assistant, and/or occupational therapist in the provision of rehabilitation services in an inpatient setting, to assure that the highest degree of quality patient care can be maintained at all times. Responsibilities may include preparing treatment areas, cleaning equipment, transporting and positioning patients, procurement of inventory/supplies, and assisting with hands on care of patients, among others.
May help with coverage in scheduling and front desk support services in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, patient scheduling, general department maintenance with light cleaning and equipment set up, maintenance of wound care supplies, and direct hands on care with patients, assisting therapists and therapist assistants with therapy treatments in a fast paced clinic.
Position is mainly for coverage during the week, possible weekend hours.
In this position you will:
Support the mission, vision, values and objectives of Providence Little Company of Mary.
Function under the direct supervision of the licensed therapists. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and cleaning treatment areas, transporting and positioning patients, procurement of inventory/supplies and assists therapists, and assistants in the completion of the patient treatment plan.
The Rehab Tech may also be assigned routine clerical support tasks to support the patient care process.
These functions are carried out according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
The Rehab Tech demonstrates professional communication and interpersonal skills including direct, honest and compassionate behavior.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Requires understanding of Rehab services goals and objectives.
Requires good working knowledge of general and specialized clinical equipment.
Requires ability to organize and prioritize work, completes assignments on time.
Requires ability to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative working relationship with patients, families, and coworkers.
Requires the ability to work effectively with a team.
Proficient communication skills.
Basic Computer skills
Current BLS/RQI certificate through the American Heart Association.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in acute hospital setting
Post High School Vocational//Specialized Training
Interest in, or previous experience, in an outpatient setting.
