Providence Health & Services Provider Contract Manager in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a Provider Contract Manager, (Full Time, Day Shift) to Providence California Regional Services in Torrance, CA
We are seeking a Provider Contract Manager who will be responsible for leading or participating as a team member in negotiations with Payors for acceptable reimbursement terms and contract language for all entities within the continuum of care (i.e. hospitals, physician organizations, home health and hospice services) within the applicable PH&S Region (the Region) for the payors assigned to them. Payors include the revenue primarily associated with Commercial, Medicare Advantage, and managed Medicaid products. This includes development of negotiation strategy and securing acceptable terms, problem resolution, and obtaining applicable support of leaders within the Service Area, Regional, System, and/or with strategic partners, such as ACO's and Joint Ventures. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining positive working relationships between payors and the Providence organization. Acts as liaison between Health Plan's, Physician Group's, and other related payor organizations to ensure all aspects of payor relationships are managed effectively. Works with applicable leadership to respond to opportunities for improvement in contract terms, rates and structure. Communicates and educates applicable staff regarding key aspects of new and modified payor contracts and Health Insurance products. The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
4 years related experience in contract negotiations, financial management, or related field
Excellent presentation and writing skills
Excellent listening and negotiation skills
Attention to detail
Ability to present recommendations and/or decisions and persuade others, as necessary, with tact and diplomacy
Ability to think strategically and to understand the business impact of key contract terms
Ability to establish positive woring relationships at all levels of the organization and with external parties
Willingness to perform both independently on micro functions as well as cooperatively on macro projects
Ability to independently manage work assignments, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines, while exercising sound judgment
Actively seek constructive feedback, and remain open and receptive to it
Ability to adapt and accomplish objectives in a complex, changing work environment
