Providence Health & Services Government Account Rep - Medi-Cal in Torrance, California
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Government Account Rep to our location in Torrance, CA.
We are seeking a Government Account Rep to follow up and resolve outstanding Medi-Cal accounts for any facility affiliated with Providence Health & Services in the California Region.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Obtain on-line status on accounts via DOE.
Analyze rejections and adjust claims electronically or hard copy as required.
Review Medi-Cal remittance advice for accuracy prior to billing supplemental insurance.
Bill Medi-Cal claims via electronic software.
Bill patients for share of cost when appropriate.
Responsible for running daily reports to identify claims holding in the system due to missing information.
Obtain and coordinate information from Health Information Management as needed.
Answer all correspondence concerning patient accounts.
Work towards continuous reduction of accounts receivable by expediting the follow-up and collection process of patient accounts.
Process refunds on patient accounts as per the established policy.
Responsible for submitting appropriate Appeals and CIF's when underpayment and overpayments are identified.
Responsible for meeting department productivity standards.
Responsible for maintaining aging averages.
Required qualifications for this position include:
A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
2 years of Acute Medi-Cal Hospital Collections experience.
3 years of successful experience in the health care field in a position demonstrating independent organizational and time management abilities.
3 years of experience working with and proficiency in use of systems, personal computer and Software.
