Providence Health & Services Front Office Supervisor in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a (Full Time/Day Shift) Front Office Supervisor at our Providence Medical Institute Ophthalmology Department location in Torrance, CA.
In this position you will:
Responsible for providing oversight regardingthe following: positive patient relations, proper telephone communicationtraining & coaching, appointment scheduling, patient registration as wellas payment/co-payment collection.
Perform “hands-on” supervisorysupport, leadership, and training.
Performs all duties in a manner which promotesteam concept and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission, philosophy andvalues.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school education
Minimum 3 yearsexperience in medical reception; 2 years supervisory experience required
Typing 40-50 wpm andcomputer skills
Excellent customerservice and communication skills and training; ability to effectively interactwith public and co-workers; working knowledge of medical insurance HMO/PPO/EPO/Indemnity/Worker’sComp, etc
Working knowledge ofcomputerized registration (preferably EPIC), and billing and collectionprocedures
Good writtenand verbal skills; ability to recognize issues, set priorities, and takedirection to accomplish established objectives.
Knowledge of health care environment, medical officepolicies and procedures, and general accounting procedures.
Assumes responsibility for own professional growththrough participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings andworkshops
Demonstrated management and leadership skills,particularly mentoring, coaching and conflict management.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Excellent listening and follow-through abilities and a willingness to accept constructive criticism.
Capable of managing highly confidential information.
Able to identify and solve problems, make decisions, and implement changes.
Able to carry out defined procedures and duties under specific instruction.
