Providence is calling a Food Service Worker ( Per diem/ Variable shift ) to Providence Little Company Of
Mary Torrance Hospital in Torrance, CA.
We are seeking a Food Service Worker who will perform a variety of routine duties surrounding the preparation and service of food and related sanitation duties according to established policies and regulatory requirements. Areas of service include: Patient Services, Cafeteria, Doctor's Dining Room, and Catering. Exemplifies the Medical Center's core values in every customer contact.
In this position you will:
Adhere to Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures regarding job specific duties, safety, accident prevention, sanitation, infection control, and improving organization performance program.
Obtain necessary food supplies and equipment in preparation for meal service, ensures proper temperatures, prepares food, and adheres to established timelines for service. Ensure a smooth meal service.
Perform job with minimal errors, as identified per specific job routine.
Greet all customers appropriately, with a smile, and respond to customer complaints with tact and discretion. Refer customers to Supervisor when appropriate.
Clean and sanitize equipment and work unit according to departmental procedures and schedules. Assignments may include, but are not limited to: ovens, stoves, fryers, hoods, steam kettles, mixers, buffalo chopper, walls, vents, ceilings, refrigerators, freezers, grease traps, carts, tables, counters, dish machine, floors, pots, pans, and catering equipment.
Operate equipment and uses cleaning agents in accordance to manufacturers' directions and/or departmental guidelines.
Work in team like manner with other staff members.
Complete appropriate log sheets (i.e. dish machine log) and notifies Supervisor when something is not in compliance.
Remove trash and garbage to disposal area; cleans trash containers. Operate trash compactor and garbage disposal.
Deliver food carts to floors and collects soiled trays.
Report safety hazards to Supervisor immediately and works safely to avoid accidents, whether driving or on the floor.
Assist in training new employees if called upon.
Attend departmental meetings and in service programs as scheduled.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
Prefer Safe Food Handling practices certification
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 6 monthsInstitutional Kitchen experience
