Providence Department Assistant in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a Department Assistant (Full Time/Day Shift) to Providence California Regional Services in Torrance, CA
We are seeking a Department Assistant, who will walk under the direction of the Department Director, complies, runs and performs basic analyses of charge accuracy and charge edit reports. This position also provides support to the regional Billing Supports Services Department, including but not limited to maintaining department files, taking department minutes, ordering supplies, and coordinating services as needed.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

Comply, run and analyse an array of charge accuracy reports, including but not limited to pre and post charge errors, charge editable activity and reminders
Provide assistance to clinical departments in correcting charge errors
Provide information to clinical departments on documentation requirements necessary to support charging activity
Ensure all accounts are reviewed and that the accounts are properly documented
Perform other auditing, charging, billing and coding assignments as assigned
Provide administrative support coordinating meetings, attending and documenting department meetings
Coordinate and process all supply, equipment and service ordering
Maintain departments files
Assist the department director and managers as needed
Require competency with computer tools used in performing duties
Responsible for responding to all electronic messages in a timely fashion
Responsible for working accounts timely
Responsible for effectively managing information flow
Responsible for staying current with payor charging protocols, billing and coding requirements
Responsible for complying with organizational training requirements
Responsible for continuing to develop Auditing, Coding and Billing knowledge
Required qualifications for this position include:
Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
Ability to establish and maintain cordial, cooperative working relationships with personnel throughout the organization
Previous Hospital auditing, charging and coding work related experience
